RMTN held a RMTN Transit Retreat on November 9, 2010. We held the meeting to involve all of the partners in creating legislative documents, as well as finding out key problems and solutions within the network.

Work Groups were also assigned to address key issues that were most important. The four most important issuse included:

1.) Devising duties for an EMS Caseworker
2.) Collecting data that is relevant to measuring the magnitude and degree of issues that result in deficiencies in medical transportation.
3.) Developing a mechanism for reimbursing public transit and ambulance trips. Possibly looking into a co-pay system.
4.) Developing both a system of, and the objectives for: educating both the public and affected professionals/groups, pertaining to: a) transportation options that are available for the emergency and non-emergency transportation of patients; b) the gaps in medical transportation and the associated deficiencies; c) Potential solutions to these gaps an deficiencies.
