A S.M.A.R.T. way to travel to SIUC
"Southern Illinois University Carbondale students from Illinois' southernmost counties now have a new alternative to a gas-guzzling commute. The SMTD buses on the new route travel from Metropolis, Brookport, Vienna and Anna, bringing SIUC students and employees, as well as anyone in the general public, to the SIUC student center, where they can walk to class, walk downtown or hop on the Saluki Express. "It was our hope that, for people who normally wouldn't be able to attend classes, this would help them, as far as transportation," said Maureen Mann, Executive Director at SMTD.
